The Missing EP is a debut of Tom Noah, a well-known member of the KLIKK family from Leiden (NL). And what a debut!

Both Missing and Savour have a cool funky groove and a lovely jazzy vibe, we definitely prefer this time of the year.

With this release we are also welcoming Bar27′s Olivier Weiter in our roster. This guy is working hard and gaining more and more support both as a DJ and producer, so you should keep an eye on him!

Berlin based Arara (also known from the duo Fog & Arara) is back again after doing a strong house remix for Dansor’s Feeling. He’s taking a more dubby approach which works excellent with Missing.

Comport’s very own homeboys, Soundbalance are experimenting with an even more uplifting, melodic sound, ending up in a couple of definitely enjoyable climaxes.
No doubt, spring is officially in the air!

Complete with a strong, characteristic tech house remix of Dutch producer Piet van Dongen and a smashing techno remix of the Dutch duo Kaap De Goede Hoop, we think it became a great pack to end 2011 with this one for sure in your DJ bag!

MUZIEK

Met 2 Live Acts en 3 DJ’s – waarvan 2 duo! – wordt het zeker gezellig op de boot (in de booth) en wordt gezorgd voor een memorabele muzikale avontuur!

CAMIEL DAAMEN is zeker geen onbekende meer in de Nederlandse scene – de ster van deze producer in hart en nieren is rijzende. Hij heeft onlangs nog een knalset weggegeven in de Odeon op ADE.
Met zijn swingende beats en heerlijk getweakte effecten zal ‘t zeker niet lukken om stil te blijven staan!

En daar blijft het niet bij want we hebben nog meer LIVE! Comport’s drijvende kracht en label manager DANSOR trekt ook haar stoute schoenen aan en zal jullie trakteren op een heerlijk melodieuze live set!
Naast releases op oa. de Canadese ‘Whose Haus?’, de New Yorkse ‘Nervous’ en Sander Kleinenberg’s label This Is en Little Mountain, heeft ze ook haar eerste single ‘Feeling’ en remix op Comport uit. Verwacht een funky sound aangevuld met niemand minder dan jazz diva Saskia Laroo live op trompet!

ANALOG EFFECT heeft onlangs nog een heerlijke remix verzorgd voor Comport’s laatste release: Spennu – People Just Don’t Care. Ze hebben hun eigen radioshow op Radio Studio 80 en hun jarenlange ervaring zorgt voor kwaliteitsproducties. En ook niet onbelangrijjk: het is altijd lol met de heren!

Tenslotte zullen onze Haarlemse helden SOUNDBALANCE & Comport z’n eigen soundengineer VON SMIR ervoor zorgen om in de juiste stemming te komen en het geheel knallend af te sluiten!

VISUALS & LIGHT SYNC

De visuals worden verzorgd door VJ DRIFTER (bekend van oa. de Krause videoclip en de audiovisual act The Drifters) en zal software ontwikkelaar MATTIJS KNEPPERS zorgen voor een met de muziek volledig gesynchroniseerde licht beleving: met zijn zelf geschreven Light Sync programma kun je vanaf nu niet alleen muziek maar ook licht besturen in Ableton!

COMBOT PAPER TOY

Speciaal voor deze gelegenheid en omdat het tenslotte ook nog Sinterklaas is – heeft Comport zelfs hun eigen paper toy genaamd COMBOT bedacht!
Deze allereerste versie van de zelf in elkaar te zetten papieren robot genaamd: COMBOT Messenger 1.0, kun je een eigen gezicht geven door middel van de slide-in screens met hierop bv: je eigen lievelings artiest van dit feest of je favoriete uitspraak zoals: “Crisis? Let’s Dance!”.

BLOC23 is a cozy, artsy, living room style venue located in the center of Amsterdam- will be hosting a variety of events ranging from beer & techno themes to shamelessly sleazy after-parties, as well as special album releases by international labels. We are happy to be a part of it.

Analog Effect is the new moniker of Dutch DJ / production duo Jan Boom and Branko van Hilten.

The duo have played and produced as Schaamteloos-DJs for many years. Jan Boom and Branko van Hilten have played almost all quality dance events in the Netherlands, with a unique ability to warm up the night. Slots at festivals such as Mysteryland, Isla Electronica, We Love Stagefestival and Lief Festival and residencies at Amsterdam’s Panama club and Club NL have ensured this Dutch duo have played alongside the likes of John Digweed, Deep Dish, Nick Warren, Danny Howells, Jimmy van M, Pete Tong, Dave Seaman, Groove Armada, Faithless, Nic Fanciulli, Sister Bliss, Guy J, Timo Maas and Mark Knight over the years. With tracks released on Boom Tsjak (Flashover), LuPS Records and Why Not the guys solidified their name in the scene.

Having used the Schaamteloos-DJs moniker for many years, it is now time for something new. Analog Effect is the transition from early evening to main set, a new approach to studio and a general overhaul of their sound. Whilst looking to the future, the name Analog Effect is a nod to more traditional methods of (analog) studio production, such as remixing tracks by cutting and pasting actual tape on a Revox tape recorder. This duo’s production roots stem from creating beats and bleeps on an Atari as teenagers, and this is it manifested in a professional capacity.

Today, with their heads firmly down in their new custom-built studio, this hard-working duo are further cementing their name as reliable and solid performers, ready to step up to the next level. The future looks bright with a slew of hot new material to be released.

Analog Effect is the future –a firm production schedule, a higher profile, a live radio show, their own label and the focus on headline slots in clubs, festivals and beach parties, keep an eye on this forward-thinking duo.

Throughout the years he made hundreds of tracks. His style varies between ambient, tech- house, electro and electronically produced modern classical music. His sound is characterized by a very melodic and mainly warm electronic vibe. During his steamy sets he will take you on into dreamy yet energetic level. Richie Hawtin versus Ambient and Johannes Heil versus Philip Glass. This is Arjuna Schiks.

In the year 2007 he was in the finals of the ‘Grote Prijs Van Nederland’ one of the biggest producers contests of the Netherlands.
In 2008 Arjuna won the Vinylized -most talented producer of the year- award! For this reason he released his first EP on vinyl on All is One Records which has been highly praised by critics.

Arjuna has been performing live at Mystery Land, Dance Valley, Valtifest, Loveland, Chemistry, Lief festival, Amsterdam Dance Event, Paradiso, FFWD Parade, All is One, Studio80, Fire, Winkel van Sinkel, Amsterdams Glorie, Twstd, The Getaway, Westerunie, Gasten zonder Grenzen, Pozerscene, de Bunker, Stubnitz, Club Up, Club 8 and many more.

Arjuna composed and produced music for the tv-commercial of the fashion brand Diesel (DSL 55) 2008 and for fall/winter fashion show during the Amsterdam Fashion week 2007.

Also Arjuna is working in the studio at several co productions with Isis (a.k.a. dj 100% Isis). His first record release, which is a collaboration with Willie Wartaal (Jeugd van Tegenwoordig), is a big hit. Their track ‘Konijntje’ was in the Top 5 hit in Holland and Belgium.
In 2009 Arjuna was rewarded for one of the 9 most talented producers of 2009 by DJ Broadcast, one of the best and serious dance magazines of Holland.
In that same year he released on Trapez (GER), made a remix for Deadmau5 and released and EP on Team Records which was supported by Laurent Garnier.
